Menopause Nutritionist & Coach in Thunder Bay, Ontario, supporting women worldwide

Hi, I'm Vivienne
I’ve spent more than 25 years working in women’s health — first as a registered nurse, midwife, and public health nurse in the UK, and now as a certified nutritionist (NNCP) and menopause coach (CSMC) in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Women’s health has never been a trend for me; it has been my profession.
Like many of the women I work with, I’ve navigated the hormonal shifts of midlife while balancing family life, career transitions, and the quiet recalibration that comes when children grow up and leave home.
I continue my education through accredited clinical programmes, including menopause management training within the NP Circle, so the guidance I provide reflects current evidence and practice.
Alongside my clinical background, I hold certificates in culinary arts and recipe development. I pursued this training to move beyond theory and create food that supports midlife metabolism, muscle health, and long-term wellbeing.
Why I Do This Work
I’ve worked in women’s health for decades, but my focus sharpened in midlife. I began seeing how many capable, independent women were blindsided by the changes of perimenopause and menopause — changes that affect metabolism, sleep, muscle, mood, and body composition in ways that aren’t explained clearly enough.
At the same time, I've watched the conversation around women’s bodies drift back toward shrinking, restricting, and chasing an outdated idea of what health should look like.
Midlife isn’t a time to become smaller. It’s a time to become stronger. Stronger bones. Stronger muscle. Clearer thinking. Better sleep. More stability. That requires understanding what’s happening physiologically and responding appropriately.
The work I care about deeply is helping women understand their bodies so they can make informed, intelligent decisions about how they eat, train, and live during this stage of life.
Professional Credentials & Features
My Approach to Coaching
My work is built around helping women understand what is changing in their bodies and why. Midlife hormonal shifts influence far more than the menstrual cycle. They affect muscle mass, sleep, appetite, stress resilience, and how body fat is distributed. When you understand those shifts, decisions around food, training, and recovery become deliberate rather than reactive.
I explain the reasoning behind every adjustment we make — why protein needs increase, why strength training matters more than ever, why sleep underpins everything, and why supplements are rarely the foundation.
Over time, you develop enough understanding to think critically about your own health. As your body continues to change, you’re able to adjust with intent rather than starting from scratch.
Why I Created 40+ Kitchen
Not every woman is looking for one-to-one coaching. But many still want clear, reliable guidance they can refer back to.
The 40+ Kitchen is where I put the resources I wish had been available when I first began navigating perimenopause myself — straightforward explanations, practical nutrition guidance, and recipes designed specifically for midlife physiology.
It has also evolved directly from the women I work with. The questions they ask, the sticking points they encounter, the meals they struggle to build — that’s what shapes the content inside.
It isn’t theoretical. It’s built around what real women in midlife are actually dealing with.
